Carving up the planet

The world was shocked and disgusted when we witnessed a brutish made-for-TV ambush on Volodymyr Zelenskyy, a warrior trying to defend his nation’s democracy against impossible odds, by Putin’s orange poodle and his vicious little attack rat in the Oval Office.

It is customary in diplomatic negotiations to hammer out agreements behind closed doors, without disclosing the arguments, threats, and manipulation that occur. When all parties finally concur, the success is presented to the press.

Never before has an enraged crimson-flushed bully president publicly leaned into a visiting president of an allied nation with such menacing hostility and screamed lies and threats in his face, let alone before a worldwide audience. Our allies were stunned and dismayed by the performance, but Vladimir Putin was dancing a jig because he has an American president who is willing to defend the dictator’s genocide and war crimes…on a leash.

Our president dodged military service by claiming he had bone spurs in his feet while he partied in New York City and gleefully claimed that his biggest worry in life was catching an STD. He calls members of the military who sacrificed their lives for this nation, “Losers and suckers” while his administration is dismantling the Veteran’s Administration, which was established by President Hoover in 1930 and provides care for our heroes. He has no respect for those who serve this country and keep us safe.

The day after this spectacle, Zelenskyy met with and was warmly welcomed by an emergency summit of European leaders hosted by British Prime Minister Keir Starmer in London, who said, “This is not a moment for more talk. It’s time to act.”

U.S. and Russian diplomats recently signed a “cease-fire” agreement in Saudi Arabia that lacked any security guarantees without input or involvement from Ukraine or European leaders. On Sunday, the NATO group agreed to increase financial and military support for Ukraine and wrest control of the peace negotiations from the Americans by presenting an alternative plan in the near future.

Prime Minister Starmer and France’s President Emmanuel Macron are creating a “coalition of the willing” to send troops to Ukraine to monitor the peace when an agreement is reached. Starmer said, “If a deal is done, it has to be a deal that is then defended.”

On his first official trip abroad, our completely unqualified and out-of-his-league U.S. Defense Secretary Hegseth told a NATO meeting in Brussels that Zelensky’s country lacked the military power to push Russia out of lands already conquered, saying, “Chasing this illusionary goal will only prolong the war and cause more suffering.”

The former Fox weekend propagandist ruled out any possibility of allowing Ukraine to join NATO, an Article Five security guarantee, or US troops participating in a peacekeeping mission.

The Defense Secretary also warned of America’s intention to step back from treaties and commitments for European and British security that have existed since WWII, stating that Europe will be responsible for their own defense without support from the US.

America is not interested in underwriting either Ukrainian or European security.”

Trump intends to restructure American foreign policy to mimic the expansionist goals of William McKinley, who started and won the Spanish-American War, claiming Puerto Rico, Guam, the Philippines, and Hawaii as colonies and occupied Cuba until 1902.

As World War II was winding down in 1945, Roosevelt, Churchill, and Stalin met in Yalta to carve up the ravaged spoils of their victory over Nazi Germany. Stalin claimed the former countries in eastern Europe bordering Russia, as well as northern Asia. Roosevelt and Churchill would convert western and southern Europe into democratic states that would become the front lines of the coming “cold” war.

"Donald Trump is in many respects a throwback to an earlier era of U.S. foreign policy, which the United States pursued for much of its history until World War II," Stewart Patrick, director of the Washington-based Carnegie Endowment for International Peace's Global Order and Institutions Program, told Newsweek. "This is a nationalist, sovereigntist and hemispherically focused policy that abdicates any pretense to global leadership or any sense of responsibility for underwriting international order or defending international law."

By force or coercion, Trump intends to incorporate Greenland, Canada, and Panama into an expanded United States and is under the illusion that two million Gazans will voluntarily leave their decimated homeland so he can construct a luxurious new Riviera for the rich and famous owned and managed by the Trump Organization.

Chairman Xi Jinping wants to reclaim Taiwan as part of greater China and unfettered control of the South China Sea to reinforce China’s dominance over all the Southeastern Asian nations surrounding it.

Putin has made no secret of his intention to construct a new Russian Empire by gobbling up the countries of eastern Europe from Estonia to Hungary that were part of the former Soviet Union as a buffer to a weakened European Union.

Like the 1939 treaty signed by Hitler and Chamberlain to “Guarantee peace in our time!” any agreement manufactured by the United States and Russia to dictate the fate of Ukraine would be fraudulent and temporary at best, because Ukraine is too large and too valuable to remain independent and defiant.

Putin has suggested a “Yalta 2.0” in Fiji to allow the most powerful leaders on the planet to carve up the world into three spheres of absolute influence and control…the western hemisphere, Europe and central Asia, and the Asian-Pacific countries.

The obliteration of  “democratic ideals” is a crucial foundation of these schemes, and more than half the population of the entire planet will be subjugated under the rule of these tyrants.

While the hoopla in the Oval Office was a brilliant deflection, a recently released House GOP resolutionproposes a $4.5 trillion debt ceiling increase while allocating those funds in new deficits for the tax-writing Ways and Means Committee. This move aims to extend and expand the tax cuts many Republicans argue are crucial for economic growth.

The proposal includes $4.5 trillion in tax cuts, $1.5 trillion in spending reductions, $300 billion for immigration and military efforts, and the debt limit increase. The GOP budget also allocates $110 billion for the Judiciary Committee and $90 billion for the Homeland Security Committee, particularly for immigration oversight.

To fund these gifts for the super-rich, Medicaid will be cut by $2 trillion, eliminating medical coverage for millions of low-income families and closing hundreds of rural hospitals. Elon Musk called Social Security the biggest Ponzi scheme in history that should be dismantled, and his demolition crew fired thousands of their employees. Expect long waits when you call to complain that you did not receive your monthly check. Expect similar mischief in Medicare, starting with a cut of 2.83% in payments of physicians.

Trump ran as a “populist,” making grand proclamations based on an alternate reality about

his dedication to supporting restitution for white working-class victims. Those hoodwinked voters are just beginning to realize that his campaign was a scam to secure his election and cement his personal power while evading years in a jail cell through the institution of a dictatorship for the benefit of the very rich at the expense of the rest of us.

The only resolution to a future filled with grand nightmares is a national movement that combines the voices of every citizen who believes in real democracy and a future of, by, and for the many instead of the few.

The future lies in your hands. Stand up. Speak out. Make a difference by joining together in a national chorus that will not be silenced until our democracy is restored.
