Before Trump took office seven months ago, no sane person would have predicted that hundreds of armed troops and Trump’s private army of unidentifiable gangsters would be patrolling the streets to accost, arrest, and disappear thousands of our friends and neighbors without warrants or provocations for the crime of not being an obedient Aryan.

 

He and his vicious lackies claim that crime is “out of control” in Los Angeles and, now, in Washington, D.C., where statistics show that the violence has dropped more than thirty percent in the past year.

 

The troops assigned to the capital are wandering aimlessly around The Mall, protecting tourist attractions with tanks and other heavy equipment (from what we know not), but Trump’s goons have yet to show their masked faces in Wards 7 & 8, where street crime continues. This is a big-budget Apprentice entertainment production, not a crisis warranting National Guard intervention. The huge funds being wasted on this extravaganza would provide food and shelter for every homeless person in the district.

 

We should note that he has made no secret of plans to occupy blue sanctuary cities with black or minority mayors, starting with Chicago and New York, but has made no mention of the top cities for violent crime, a majority of which are located in Republican states:

Kansas City, MO

Milwaukee, WI

Albuquerque, NM

Houston, TX

Nashville, TN

New Orleans, LA

Cleveland, OH

Birmingham, AL

St. Louis, MO

This circus is not predicated on stopping crime or arresting real criminals. We The People are being conditioned to accept armed thugs, masked and unidentifiable, roaming the streets of every city in the country to threaten and intimidate civilians going about their everyday lives.

 

It may be common in third-world countries, but it is neither normal nor acceptable in the United States of America. Trump might be morally bankrupt, intellectually ignorant, and completely illiterate, but he is a student of modern history’s many examples of fascist politicians using the military, secret police forces, and corrupt courts to eliminate opposition to their dictatorial ambitions.

 

This campaign is not about eliminating violence, but rather having troops in place to prevent a Democratic sweep of the next elections by declaring a national emergency. He has tasted ultimate power, and he intends to ensure his domination of our government and our culture by denying the will of the people and his oath to the Constitution. 

 

The media is overwhelmed with the blitzkrieg of stories, revelations, and distractions erupting every day about this expanding outrage, as well as the Epstein story - where Trump is at the center of the scandal, and his blatant corruption through bribes, blackmail, shady business deals, untraceable crypto platforms, and countless other profit channels that would have forced any previous president to resign in disgrace.

 

This blizzard of barbarity blinds us to the reality of the MAGA demolition of our rights and benefits, the rewriting of history to eliminate facts and truth from our nation’s museums and school curriculums about the darkest moments our nation has endured, the millions of citizens who will lose health care coverage and access to rural hospitals, and the diversion of billions of dollars in public school funding to private school vouchers that benefit wealthy families at the expense of poor. 

 

Millions of public school students will no longer receive meals or after-school care. Our colleges and universities, as well as private institutions, are being defunded and denied support for vital scientific research, which has always been the envy of the world and benefits all of us. Millions of jobs and a significant increase in pollution are expected to result from billions of dollars cut from clean energy programs that benefit the entire population. 

 

This list could go on for pages, but the point is that everything that we believe in and count on as a society is being erased and eliminated to benefit the wealthiest few at the expense of working-class citizens and the poor. History based on facts is being replaced with propaganda, and the next “brain-washed” and uneducated generation will be subservient to the fictitious glories of wealthy white dominance.

 

We are witnessing the perversion of Trump’s Justice Department to intimidate his perceived enemies with dubious investigations into ambiguous allegations brought with great fanfare but little proof in the media. He vowed retribution against those unwilling to bow to his every whim and fantasy, and he is using the legal system to deliver cruel and unwarranted vengeance with glee.

 

Our economy is just beginning to confront the challenge of inflated prices for imported goods that are the result of Trump’s self-inflicted tariffs, and rapidly increasing prices for nationally produced goods and services that are the result of his draconian campaign to decimate immigrant labor. We are at the very beginning of his monetary nightmare, and it will be a long, cold descent into tyrannical madness before we can begin to hope to drag the remnants of our culture out of his cesspool and begin the long journey back to sanity.

 

Before the last election, Trump boasted that, if his people would come out to vote for him, they would never have to vote again. The world thought he was joking. He wasn’t.

 

We are enduring a transformation of our nation that will take generations to unravel and repair, if and when we can find a way to purge the MAGA maggots from office. There is no guarantee that the 2026 elections will be allowed to proceed, and the prospect of Trump and his fascist regime holding office to finish this term, and exceed and ignore Constitutional limits with a third term, offers little hope for the preservation of our democracy.

 

There is no cavalry coming to save the day. It is up to us to save our democracy and our way of life.
