Nearly fifty years ago, Rick and his wife, Sheridan, bought an abandoned urban farmhouse on a long-neglected property and spent decades removing hundreds of volunteer trees and every weed known to man, creating beds, and installing ornamental and vegetable gardens that have grown and matured into a sedate sanctuary for birds and critters that draws visitors to explore the evolving beauty.

Sheridan passed away several years ago, but Rick, a Master Gardener, continues to grow, nurture, and maintain the plantings in Kelian's Garden. He is also an author, musician, and an award-winning advertising photographer who has documented the evolution of this wonderland by creating stunning images of his flowers as they bloom throughout the growing seasons.
